# Video Generation

> Learn how to generate videos using AI models for both text-to-video and image-to-video creation

## Text to Video

To generate a video from a text prompt:

1. **Access the generation toolbar** - Click on the generation icon (stars icon) in the left toolbar to make the generation toolbar appear.
2. **Switch to Video mode** - Select the "Video" tab in the generation toolbar.
3. **Write your prompt** - Enter a descriptive text prompt describing the video you want to create and select the desired apsect ratio and video model.
4. **Enhance your prompt** - Click the "Enhance" button to automatically improve your prompt with more detail and creative elements.
5. **Generate** - Click the generate button to create your video.

  **Pro tip:** When using Veo, make sure you add a description of the audio to
  get better results with synchronized sound and visuals.

## Image to Video

Transform static images into dynamic videos using existing images as starting or ending frames:

1. **Select an image** - Click on any image in your canvas that you want to use as a reference
2. **Set as reference** - Click the "Reference" button that appears when the image is selected
3. **Choose frame type** - Select how you want to use the image:
   * **Add as reference** - Use the image as style/content guidance
   * **Use as start frame** - Begin the video with this image
   * **Use as end frame** - End the video with this image
4. **Write your prompt (optional)** - Add a text description for the video you want to create. Click "Enhance" to use AI to o automatically improve your prompt with more detail and creative elements (optional).
5. **Generate** - Click the generate button to create your video

  You can use the same image for both start and end frames to create a loop, or
  use different images to create a transformation between two states.

## Tips for Better Video Results

* **Be specific about motion** - Describe camera movements, object actions, and scene dynamics.
* **Use a start frame** - Adding a start frame helps conserve credits, as generating images is faster and cheaper. Starting with a great image can significantly enhance your video creation process.
* **Use clear references** - High-quality reference images produce better video results.
* **Experiment with frame types** - Try different combinations of start frames, end frames, and references.
* **Make sure to inspect the enhanced prompt** - Sometimes, enhancing the prompt might include details that you don't want.
